Encore! Encore!

The Third grade play, “Coyote Steals Summer” was a huge success!  Thanks to each of  the students for their hard work and to you for your support during the production of our play.  It was great to see everyone Thursday night and this morning.  Students, teachers, parents and friends enjoyed the production while the pre-primary and primary teachers were in awe with the growth their former students displayed.  What an incredibly talented group to work with!  Scott is working on the production of our play and he will e-mail you when the Vimeo link is finished.  Below are pictures of each group of students in the play.

This was in our blog last week, but because of its importance we are repeating the information. The week after we return from Spring Break, (April 11-15) all New City School students, 1st-5th grade, will take the Stanford Achievement Tests. Monday, April 18th, and Tuesday, April 19th, will be used as a testing make-up days.   Due to scheduling, some testing may need to start as early as 8:45.  PLEASE be sure your child is on time to school.  Coming in late will greatly disrupt testing for all involved.  We will be testing two times a day, in the morning and right after lunch, so we ask that you refrain from scheduling any doctor appointments during those times.  Besides being to school on time, you can help your child by being sure he/she gets a good night’s sleep and eats a good breakfast each morning.  This will be the first year the students are expected to do the entire test on their own.  In years past, the test questions were read to the children,  Because of this, we will spend our first week back from break doing several test practice lessons and homework assignments.

Spring Break Homework Reminder
