First Grade Performance of “The Sneetches” is a Hit!

First grade recently completed their annual performance of Dr. Seuss' "The Sneetches" for a local preschool audience as well as for the student body and parent body at New City.

"The Sneetches" is a story about discrimination. In the beginning, Sneetches with stars on their bellies discriminate against Sneetches with "plain bellies". Throughout the course of hte performance, the Sneetches learn that what's really important is what's on the inside, not on the outside!

The Friday assembly performance ended with a school-wide sing-a-long. Every former New City School first grader knows all the words to "The Sneetches" songs!
