- In The Classroom
While investigating new content, students begin to make observations about patterns they see. Then they gather their ideas and start to question the validity or possible restrictions of their patterns and observations. Through observations, connecting with prior knowledge, and looking for evidence to support or challenge their claims, students begin to form conjectures about the mathematics. By the end of the course of study, students are asked to create a mathematical proof for one of their conjectures. Today, the students shared their conjectures with their classmates. Their classmates left feedback on what they saw them doing well.
