Winter Diversity Event: An Evening with Dr. Joshua Bennett

Friday, January 11, 2019
7:00pm–8:30pm

Dr. Joshua Bennett is a renowned poet with a PhD in English from Princeton University and an MA in Theatre and Performing Studies from the University of Warwick. He is the author of The Sobbing School, a National Poetry Series selection and a finalist for an NAACP Image Award for Poetry, and has performed his work for the Obamas at the 2009 White House Poetry Jam. He is currently an Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing at Dartmouth College. In his own words, Joshua’s work “centers around a desire to cultivate new vocabularies for living/thinking/writing/performing blackness, destabilize hegemonic conceptions of beauty and strength, and . . . have mad fun writing poems and teaching workshops . . .”
