From personal finance to food-preparation skills, area schools are helping equip students for a range of day-to-day skills.
How educators are tending to students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
“‘You have to really focus your energy on bringing people together, not just physically but emotionally,’ says Ben Griffiths, director of the personals at New City School. ‘You have to learn the skills that it takes to have very different people in the same space and still see the common ground.’"
New City School was founded in 1969 with the mission to create a learning environment that celebrates diversity and teaches students to explore and interact with their communities as leaders. Now, 55 years later, the school’s faculty and staff strive to continue building upon that mission as they continue to learn and grow.
