Many of the challenges that our founders faced in 1969 still exist today. To remain competitive in the St. Louis independent school market for this next chapter in the school’s history, we must attract and retain superior faculty and ensure that they are inspired and supported. We must continue to lead in educational innovation by staying abreast of the advances in educational research and child development to ensure that New City supports the best approaches both for now and in the future.
While faculty and staff are among the school’s greatest assets, there is a highly competitive market for the most talented among them. By investing in dedicated, engaged, and capable faculty, the Endowed Fund for Faculty Excellence will help to recruit, retain, develop, and support a diverse set of faculty so that students and families can see themselves mirrored in those faculty members. We will also increase our investment in professional development to ensure that all faculty are encouraged and have the opportunity to explore, research, and pilot new, innovative, interdisciplinary, and experiential programs that support our students and their learning.
