New City School is inspired by the generosity of our donors – our current parents and caregivers, alumni, grandparents, past parents, faculty, staff, and friends who have chosen to make our school a philanthropic priority in support of our mission and our work with children. The generosity of our community keeps New City strongly positioned as a leader in progressive education and ensures that our graduates consistently succeed in gaining admission to outstanding, competitive secondary schools. Contributions to the New City Fund are unrestricted- but can be designated to a specific fund- and have an immediate impact on current New City students and faculty/staff. 

Support for the endowment provides a level of financial stability and independence, assuring New City's future while supporting its present needs. The principal of the endowment is invested, and a portion of the earnings are used each year.

Our financial aid endowment was established in 1993 by wise donors who understood that economic diversity was integral to our mission. Thanks to continued support from generous donors and sound financial planning our endowment has grown to $11 million which supports our Variable Tuition efforts. The endowment generates approximately 20% of the Variable Tuition support we provide each year to more than 42% of our students. Our goal is to continue to increase the size of the endowment through additional scholarship funds, special purpose funds, and planned gifts. Tribute gifts are a wonderful way to celebrate and recognize important moments in the lives of people we care about. They are often given for special occasions or milestones such as a graduation, birthday, reunion or anniversary. Memorial gifts are traditionally given to honor the memory of someone who has passed away. Oftentimes, memorial contributions offer a more lasting legacy and are made in lieu of flowers. Multiply your support to New City School through your company's matching gift program. 

Many companies offer matching gift programs which provide an opportunity for employees to multiply the impact of their personal contributions. Most participating companies will match employee gifts dollar for dollar, with some doubling or tripling the value of your contributions. Gifts made by retirees and/or spouses are also sometimes eligible. Contact your Human Resources office to obtain information/paperwork about this easy way to increase your support of New City School. Recognition for giving is calculated based on the total gift, including any matching funds received.
