Does independent school tuition seem out of reach? At New City School, our Variable Tuition program helps to support families at all income levels.

For over 50 years, New City School has been committed to providing an excellent progressive education to students and families in the St. Louis metropolitan area. New City School’s founders imagined a school that was reflective of the greater St. Louis metropolitan area, and a school that served a diverse population of students. In order to strengthen and sustain our commitment to middle class families and socio-economic diversity, we have implemented a tuition assistance program known as Variable Tuition.
What is Variable Tuition?
Variable Tuition is a need-based tuition assistance program similar to those used by many private schools, colleges, and universities. This program allows families to apply for reduced tuition that is right for their families’ financial situation. This helps make a New City School education affordable to many qualified students who could not otherwise join our school community. As a result, our students will continue to represent a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds, enhancing the learning experience for every New City student and strengthening and sustaining our commitment to middle class families and socio-economic diversity.
Be sure to submit your application for admissions through the myNewCity portal prior to applying for Variable Tuition. To get started with your Variable Tuition application, please go to Clarity and create an account.
There is a $60 application fee to apply for Variable Tuition.
Variable Tuition eligibility and awards are shared at the same time as admissions decisions.
