What drew me to New City School was the opportunity to be part of a school and team that places identity development and social justice front and center. The school is known for its Multiple Intelligences (MI) work too. As an "Inclusion Teacher" I'd used practices that named and elevated awareness around multiple intelligences as community building tools and am now learning how the language of MI informs self-awareness and self-advocacy. We are working to see in what ways we can cultivate the MI work to fuel praxis that bridges identity - community - agency & advocacy. On a personal note, it is great to do this work in a place that consistently reminds you that your "whole self" matters and belongs.
