After learning about ecosystems, biodiversity, and animal classification, 3rd Graders have been tasked with designing solutions to prevent, deter, and/or remove invasive species from ecosystems.
1st Graders recently spent time learning about indigenous Americans, focusing in particular on the Wampanoag people that live (and lived) in what is now Massachusetts as a way of approaching the origin of the story of Thanksgiving.
4/5s have been exploring art using natural materials with Guest Early Childhood Art Specialist Colleen, and took a field trip to Laumeier Sculpture Park to bring concepts from the classroom to life.
Last week, New City parents, caregivers, and administrators gathered together for the first meeting of a book club to discuss “The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness” by Jonathan Haidt.
During Social Studies, 4th Grade students have been learning about the Electoral College and how voting works in the United States, including who gets to vote and what kinds of things are put on the ballot.
