Kindergarten Renovation is Complete!

November 17th was the grand opening for our newly refurbished Kindergarten space -- the band was playing, and parents and staff gathered around to watch the ribbon cutting and join in the kids' excitement as they were lead to their new and improved space!

In September, a series of hard rains caused a few floods in the room, which ended up needing new carpeting, wall board, and paint. While renovations were already taking place, we went ahead and added some additional improvements including new cubbie spaces, additional carpeted areas, new sinks for the classrooms and the classroom bathrooms, improved lighting in several places, and a brand new mural on the wall!

Thanks to Bill Sprung, Johnnie Burton, Jason Gasperoni, Bob Bradshaw, Joe Bradshaw, and Tom Craig. Thanks to our librarian, Joe Corbett, and our MI Library Coordinator, Jessica Brod Millner, for their flexibility and patience. Also, big, big thanks to our four kindergarten teachers -- Monette Gooch-Smith, Joy Poole, Susan Matthews, and Kristi Cloninger. And finally, thanks to our kids for being flexible and going with the flow!
