Exciting News from the Math Club!

**Updated Thursday, May 7th**

This year, five students took part in the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) State tournament. Students from over 400 elementary schools from across Missouri competed to qualify for this event.  To qualify to go to State as an individual, students needed to rank in the top five for their grade level at a Regional competition.  Fifth grader Max Keller  and Sixth graders Rafi Brent, Dylan Fox , and Benjamin Hollander-Bodie qualified as individuals. To qualify as a team for the State contest,  a school needed to take 1st place at a  Regional. The New City School Team consisting of Benjamin, Rafi, Dylan, and Cristian Perez  qualified for State.

We are proud to announce that two of our individuals ranked. Benjamin Hollander-Bodie took first place overall (6th grade division) and is Missouri’s 6th Grade State Champion! Dylan also ranked, coming in at 12th place in the 6th grade division.

We are also pleased to announce that Rafi, Dylan, Benjamin, and Cristian tied for first place in the Team event. New City School is  the Missouri Elementary Team Champion!
