VISIT NEW CITY SCHOOL

The only way to truly understand our unique school environment is to step inside our red doors and take a tour. A private tour will allow you to tell us about your child(ren), learn more about New City, and meet faculty and students. Private tours generally take place on Wednesdays between 9:00 and 11:30 am or 1:00 and 2:30 pm. To schedule a private tour, please contact Melanie Harmon, Director of Admissions, at 314-361-6411 or admissions@newcityschool.org.

To better serve the varying schedules of our families, we also offer two group tours every week. These tours are held on Tuesday at 9 am, if you are interested in preprimary, and Thursday at 1 pm, if you are interested in kindergarten through Grade 6. During a group tour you may or may not be visiting with another prospective family.

During a tour you will learn more about New City School's history and mission that make it such a unique learning environment. You will also take a tour of the facility. Group tours need to be scheduled 48 hours in advance. To schedule a group tour, CLICK HERE to view available dates and sign-up.

Admissions Evening for Families of Color
January 17, 2013 6-8pm

If you missed our Open House, there is still another opportunity for you to come to an admission event! Join us on Wednesday, January 17, from 6-8 pm, to take a tour guided by a parent of a current New City student and meet teachers, current students and alumnae. We require you to RSVP to Melanie Harmon at mharmon@newcityschool.org or 314-361-6411. If you are wondering, "What does New City mean by family of color?" New City celebrates diversity on many different levels. The racial and ethnic identities of our families is one element of diversity we embrace. Any family with members who consider themselves to be other than Caucasian could be considered a family of color; 36% of the current body are students of color including African American, Asian, Middle Eastern, Hispanic, Native American and multi-racial. We host this specific event to encourage families to learn about the importance of diversity within our curriculum.

"There is an energy at New City that is just as impossible to overlook as it is to define.  Stepping into the building, one's senses are bombarded with all the best things we hope for ourselves and our children - laughter, art work, music, and the unique smell of school supplies and science projects mingled with coffee, snacks, and countless pairs of tennis shoes."
