Tuition

Tuition
Tuition for the 2012-2013 school year for all full-day classes is $16,000. Tuition for the 3/4 year old pre-school half-day program is $11,350 (extended care is available until 3:30 and later for an additional fee). An optional part-time 4/5 year old program is also available at this rate. Three different payment plans are offered – one lump sum, three payments, or ten monthly payments.

Socio-economic Diversity
All of our students benefit from the range of diversities at New City School, including our economic diversity. Our primary tool for attaining economic diversity is through need-based scholarships, awarded to a third of our student body. Our need-based scholarships enable families to pay tuition rates that are based on their individual income levels.

The following chart can give you an approximation of whether or not your family would benefit from a need-based scholarship. Please contact Melanie Harmon, Director of Admissions, if you have any questions.

Annual Giving
Independent schools like New City receive no tax dollars. A gap exists between the real cost of educating each student and the tuition charged. Each year, all families are expected to make a tax-deductible contribution to the annual giving campaign to help bridge this gap.
