You'll notice something unusual in the main hallway at New City School: an alcove with a couch, a chair, a coffee pot and a sign that says, "Parents, stay and linger. Have a cup of coffee." And they do! At New City School, parents come into the building with their children in the morning. We happily greet each other and share a smile or a story (or a cup of coffee!) before starting our day. We come to know each other and to know the New City teachers and administrators. This is a community of people who have a shared commitment to children and to the best possible education for those children. And we have fun!
