ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Step 1:
Attend an Informational Coffee and Tour:
Informational coffees are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. or Mondays at 1:00.
Personal tours are also available - contact Melanie Harmon
mharmon@newcityschool.org or 314-361-6411, ext. 106 to schedule.
Step 2:
CLICK HERE to download and print an application. Fill out the application and return to New City School attention Melanie Harmon. Also, fill out the release form and give to your child's current preschool or elementary school. This form allows them to release the school records to New City.
Step 3:
Provide a Teacher Referral form to your child's current teacher. That teacher will fill it out and return it directly to New City School. Please contact New City to obtain the Teacher Referral Form.
Step 4:
Schedule a school visit for your child. If you have applied for the preprimary program, you will receive a letter indicating the time in which your child's visit has been scheduled for the assessment day, which takes place on Saturday, February 4, 2012.
If you have applied for Grades 1-6, you will need to call the admission office to schedule your child's visit. All school aged visits take place after January and can be up to two full school days.
Important Dates:
November 12, 2011... OPEN HOUSE 9:30 - 12:00 pm
January 11, 2012... Admissions Evening for Families of Color 6:00 - 8:00 pm
February 1, 2012... Deadline for admission applications
February 4, 2012... Assessment visit for pre-primary and kindergarten applicants
March 15, 2012... Admission notification mailed
After the February 1st deadline, please contact the Admissions Office to schedule a tour and visit. Acceptance decisions are based on space availability and are made within two weeks of the child's assessment visit.
Financial Aid Deadlines
January 15, 2012… Deadline for F.A.C.T.S. Financial Aid form to be completed online (
www.factstuitionaid.com).
February 1, 2012… Deadline for New City School Application for Financial Aid form.
